That makes more sense and sort of how I thought it works. I always reserve full-size anyway, since the price difference isn't much (company pays anyway) and I can get a bigger car (I'm tall and don't fit well in some mid-size cars).
I don't think National really cares. I used to do the same thing since I hated the Pontiac Grand Am that was the usual for intermediate then. However, a couple of years ago, they changed the rules somewhat so that you were supposed to use the Aisle only on a intermediate reservation.
