That very well may happen, if the no-status pax can actually get help from live person or over the phone faster than status pax. The difference here is that at Harrah's, there's no barrier for pax to communicate with them. For an airline during IROPS it's elite line 5 minutes vs wait in line/regular line 1 hour. Unless if airline had quota of seats for non-elites they'd be screwed, and if they did and was found out, there'd be a riot among its elites and hell to pay.
