Using US Airways Miles to Book UAL Award
Hi,
I am attempting to use US Airways miles to book a United itinerary from California to Montreal.
On the reservation line, I was told that no award seats are available...
even though all of the flights involved are virtually completely open, and United's system offers an award ticket [if I use Mileage Plus miles].
I was told by US Airways that even though United may have award seats available, they may not be allowing US Airways to offer them.
This is for a trip 11 months from now...my best guess is no seats were ever made available to US Airways.
Is there any way around this??
US Airways -- even with 2 stops -- has no seats available on the same dates, and I'd rather not use my UAL miles. Air Canada wasn't offered, but the UAL system doesn't show any Air Canada flights being available.
Would appreciate any knowledge about how this apparently fake Star Alliance nonsense works. Thanks.
