I've been OPUPed from C to F on a flight to LHR. It was done on board after I had settled into my C seat upstairs. I had asked at check-in if I could buy an upgrade and was told none available. I don't know if the on board upgrade was the result of asking at check-in or Star Gold status.

Does you earlier reply to my post imply they won't sell me an upgrade on a reward ticket? I thought I'd read they'd sell you the upgrade regardless of what type of ticket you had. All my previous upgrade purchases have been on revenue tickets.

I'll have to consult my wife to see if $310 is worth it for each of us on a 5 hour flight. After 12 or 13 from YVR it might be. And if the CDN $ keeps rising that might make it worth it.
