Can someone please confirm what compensation is due when you do not get the promised room type for a Fairfield Inn?

At one of the hotels I was originally given $100 (which I thought was correct) then the manager called me back and told me that it was only $25.

I know that when you don't get your welcome gift at FI you get $25, but I thought for getting the wrong room type was $100, can someone please confirm?
