FAs have been informally doing this for quite some time. Many FAs would seperate cans, bottles, and the plastic from the snack packs whem picking up trash. Nice to see that it is formalized.

As for $$$, there are companies that pay for recyclables. Also, recycling reduces the amount of trash that needs to be disposed, leading to a costs savings.
