To the OP, another thing that'll work against you on a Sunday: I believe that's the only day the 178 isn't a 70J 744 but a 777. Even less seats up for grabs.
Also Sunday is the only day there's only one daytime flight, instead of the usual 3.
The extra two:
172 JFK 0800 LHR 1945
186 EWR 0800 LHR 2010
do not operated on Sundays, presumably as there is little demand for the extra Saturday evening flights ex-LHR.
