Yes I think you do need to get a smaller bag, and maybe relax a bit. As for refering to someone who by your own account does not appear to have been rude as a Nazi, that is distasteful. I am no fan of these staff myself, but Spanishflea is right, behaviour breeds behaviour and all this type of reaction will achieve is a battle.
