Exactly the opposite for me. TravelinWilly (me, from DC) and his brother (in San Fran) have to go to a funeral Friday - TW's brother was able to use 25K of his wife's Delta miles for a UA flight into O'Hare (from Oakland) this Thursday (1/4/01), back to Oakland Friday, not on bereavement. I don't get the logic between Delta and UA, if there is any.
