I've always wondered why I'm allowed to turn on my phone the second the wheels hit the runway, but have to turn it off even if we're sitting at the gate as long as the door is closed. I don't see much of a difference and I'm sure the FA was thinking the same. My guess is most people on the plane cared more about the red sox score than the FAA regs.
