I had one of the earliest tumi leathers, but it started to tear and fade after about 500K miles. Tumi replaced it, with is ONE CLEAR BENEFIT of the tumi products in their top lines.

I then bought one of the T2 lines, I think they are now called Tumi Tech line. I really liked the bags, messenger type and briefcase / laptop type. I think they were better value, and actually for me more functional. I didn't really care if it wasn't executive type leather and style. that bag was lost in a volcano explosion in Ecuador. I'm not saying the bag was destroyed and that it didn't survive the explosion, but the HOUSE that it was in didn't and was covered with ASH, so I basically abandoned the bag.

So, I bought the Victorinox bags, and I REALLY like them. I think their weight is better, even with the balistic nylon, and their features are better for me.

they are quite a bit cheaper as well, we have bought several differant bags for differant LT's and purposes, usually at the baggage store in the mall, which has them for about 40% off usually.
