Palermo vs Recoleta where to stay in Buenos Aires
I have searched the BA forum (many thanks to Gaucho for making this happen) and still could not decide which area is better to stay for a week in B&A. This is very subjective and there were several discussions in the BA forum on benefits staying in Palermo (mainly Viejo) vs staying in Puerta Madre vs Microcentre vs Recoleta.
There are 5 people so we have decided to rent an apartment. We are in our low 30s and will spend at least 5 days enjoying BA: cafe culture, tango (dance and watch), food, futbol, good food ( did I mentioned it already ;-)) , museums, walks in the park, shopping for ladies...
The quote from one previous post was: stay in the center if it is your first time (we are newcomers to BA), stay in Palermo if you are regular to BA.
I am leaning towards staying in Recoleta due to its proximity to everything (tourist-wise) and nice combination of good restaraunts and landmarks.
I am a little concerned that there is no subte (subway) but I figure we would just cab it to where ever we need to.
For those who have been/lived to BA,where would you advise us to stay?
Thank you very much in advance,
