Useful Book
Generally regular flyers have an annual travel insurance policy which covers such eventualities. Perhaps it doesn't happen in New Jersey, but bags do get mislaid - admittedly this is one of BA's less strong suits at the moment.
Hope the bag does turn up, I'm sure it's inconvenient.
