If you have tags that show that your bags are tagged through then of course it was not just "not loaded". Why it was not on the next days flight I am not certain, but it was not done just for a bit of a laugh. The staff in DOH can possibly see where the bag was last tracked, but to say they know exactly where it is seems rather naive. The transit area for baggage at T4 runs almost the entire length of the terminal and there are many thousands of bags passing through there every day.

There are many many airlines around the world and many of them lose bags from time to time. BA is cursed with LHR which wont get noticeably better until T5 is up to speed. As for the seating and service, that is not usually seen as being the problem you feel it is. Of course these are things that you should consider when you next book. If you dont enjoy the product BA offer and you feel that there is a better one on another carrier then you should fly with them instead.
