The numbers are basically a non-issue. 99.99% of numbers will be in our alphabet. I do know the numbers (albeit rusty) from playing Mah Jongg with a Chinese set that used the Chinese way of writing them. I've never seen them in use in a situation where I cared about the sign, though.
