[Hub penalty when using CO coupons, IAH term B & other questions...]
I'd like to see the policy relaxed regarding the $99 companion passes and/or the passes you get for being a Continental credit card holder. Being that I am in Houston, my husband and I thought it would be good to get the card because we usually fly Continental when we need to go somewhere, and there is a direct flight to my parents' city. After getting the card, we received passes for money off of flights between a certain amount of money. At first we were excited because the flight to visit my parents is usually $300 or more. We were all set to get $50 off. After we read the fine print, any flights to OR from Houston/Cleveland/Newark could only have $20 taken off. Why is that? Clearly you discriminate against those of us who just happen to live near your hubs. Plus, there were so many blackout dates the passes are impossible to use. I realize you don't want people using them during holidays, but so many people are traveling during that time I find it hard to believe that you would lose money from the deal.
I haven't flown Continental in a while because I had a baby, but it seems after ExpressJet split from Continental, they shifted a lot of the flights at IAH to what looks like the "cattle call" area. We have to take a bus out to our flight, which is okay for the average person, but not when you have children and you are carting around a stroller, car seat, and other things. What plans do Continental have to make room in the big B for us?
