I found it strange that they would enter service to Lagos with double daily service as well. They must feel very optimistic about it, because the norm would be to start service from one hub and add service from a second hub later based on performance of the first flight.
On the other hand, with all the talk about security issues there, perhaps it helps amortize the security expenses if you spread them over two flights rather than one.
To say nothing of the FCPA issues...
I'm sure oil at over $80/barrel has something to do with it as well. But good for Delta, I'm glad to see them expanding aggressively into Africa (including the addition of Air Kenya to Sky Team lite).
