The 5 means you are a standby (as opposed to confirmed) passenger. A is higher priority than B. For example, I believe 5A is used when a passenger misses a flight due to a misconnect and 5B is used if a passenger wants to take an earlier flight than one for which he or she has a confirmed reservation.
