I will be going on safari in Kenya in December and am thinking of renting a lens. I currently have the 18-135 that came with the D80, but hope to buy the 18-200VR when I am in the States next week.

I have looked at Calumet rental lenses. The rental pdf guide is here: http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/pdfs/Rental_UK_en.pdf. The only long-ish zoom lens seems to be the 70-300. For 10 days, it would cost £300.

Is this enough lens? Should I look at other companies who rent lenses? Should I buy something? If so, what?
