The gate gourmet "fiasco" gave me 100,000 compensation miles, an unexpected extra weekend in Tokyo, an interesting sampling of Japan Air's service offering between Tolyo and LHR (not bad - Japan air serve the hot course on a hot stone so you get your starter and main at the same time which seems odd in this day and age), money back on the BA ticket that had left me stranded in Japan, and everlasting sandwiches, soups, bacon butties and scones for every BA lounge passenger who has flown since that time. As well as reasonable pay and conditions for the downtrodden aunts and mothers of the baggage handlers who quite reasonably provoked the whole issue. What fiasco?
