There is a clear implication here that every reduction in status is a considered decision by BA, by no means automatic if you don't get enough TP's.
Anyway, well done! As I recently reported, a friend who was a Gold of six years' standing (until yesterday) was less than pleased when he received a Silver card because he was a few points short, as he knows that it is quite common for status to be retained in those circumstances.
From what I have read those that get comped another year have been those no where near the qualification vs those very close. Almost like BA saying well this guy has dropped us totally so lets try and win him back as opposed to this guy was very close so we know he still flys us.
No idea if this is policy or makes and sense to those reading it but they are my drunken thoughts.
