I think MPM is going to be a real problem on something like a YVR/SEA-MRU award. The MPM listed for revenue fares is 12,928 (for SEA; a little less for YVR). It doesn't look like you can route via Europe (FRA) within the MPM. There is a published fare that allows a FRA-JNB specified routing but I don't know if they would give you that on an award.

For SEA-JNB the MPM is 12,470 and appears to allow several logical routings via FRA. So at least that gives you some options.

I couldn't find any Pacific routings within the MPM. Even if you do, it's not necessarily permitted on a single award as the award is supposed to route via Atlantic. Sometimes you can get it via Pacific if the mileage is reasonable.
