You’ll automatically be entered in the Bites for Flights Contest each time you book online an Onboard Café meal voucher OR a Latitude fare ticket for a flight offering the Onboard Café or Café Jazz service taken between October 1, 2007, and January 9th, 2008, for travel within Canada and between Canada and the U.S.

You could win one of 10 pairs of round-trip tickets for anywhere in North America and the Caribbean.

Air Canada gives you the option of ordering a prepaid Onboard Café voucher as one of our À LA CARTE options, offered when booking your flight online at a Tango or Tango Plus fare. This voucher is available for select flights within Canada and between Canada and the U.S. that offer the Onboard Café or Café Jazz service. Each voucher offers one (1) meal item and one (1) snack item to be served onboard, at the very low price of $6 CAN (all taxes included). Your Onboard Café voucher will simply appear coded on your boarding card.

1. The Bites for Flights Contest (the “Contest”) is brought to you by Air Canada (hereinafter the ‘Sponsor’). Contest starts on October 1st , 2007, at 12:01 a.m. EDT and closes on January 9, 2008, at 11:59 p.m. EDT (hereinafter, the ‘Promotional Period’). 
Eligibility

2. The Contest is open to residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence. Employees, representatives and agents of Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz, its advertising and promotional agencies including Marketel Communications, affiliated and related companies, and members of the immediate family (parents, children, siblings and spouse, regardless of where they live) and households of such employees are not eligible. 

How to Enter

3. To enter the contest: 

3.1 All eligible customers with a valid Aeroplan membership who travel during the Promotional Period on any flight operated by Air Canada or Air Canada Jazz offering the Onboard Café or Café Jazz service* (excluding Bermuda, the Caribbean, Costa Rica and Mexico) AND who either 1) obtain a Pre-paid Onboard Café Voucher** at www.aircanada.com for this flight or 2) travel on a Latitude fare level ticket for this flight, will be automatically entered to win one of the ten (10) Prizes.

3.3 Participants may also enter by hand writing an essay of up to 50 words on “What is or would be my favourite North American trip?”, and send it in an envelope with sufficient postage to:

Only one no purchase entry per address is allowed and qualifies as one (1) entry into the Contest. Hand-written entries must be postmarked no later than January 9th, 2008, and must be received by January 18th, 2008. All entries must include participant’s name, address, contact phone number and Aeroplan number. The sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, illegible, or postage due mail entries.

*Air Canada offers its Onboard Café service on select flights within Canada, and between Canada and the US, Bermuda, the Caribbean, Costa Rica and Mexico that are greater than 1hr30min in duration. Air Canada Jazz offers its Café Jazz service on select flights within Canada, and between Canada and the US that are greater than 2hrs in duration.
** Onboard Café vouchers are available for purchase on www.aircanada.com for select Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz Onboard Café or Café Jazz flights of 2 hours duration or more (excluding Bermuda, the Caribbean, Costa Rica and Mexico). Onboard Café vouchers are only available to those Economy Class customers who have booked their flight on aircanada.com.

Prizes 

4. Ten (10) Prizes will be awarded, each consisting of: 

Round Trip Airfare in Economy class for the winner and his/her designated guest, for travel between the Canadian airport served by Air Canada or Air Canada Jazz closest to the winner’s residence and any city in Canada, the U.S., Bermuda, the Caribbean, and Mexico served by Air Canada or Air Canada Jazz. 
Travel must be completed by March 1st , 2009, and is only valid between March 1st , 2008 and March 1, 2009. 
The following blackout periods apply: from March 19 to March 24, 2008 and from December 13, 2008 to January 12, 2009 for all routes; and additionally from February 22 to March 18, 2008 for Bermuda, the Caribbean, Florida, Hawaii, Las Vegas and Mexico. Other Restrictions may also apply. No extensions to the expiry date are permitted. 
Each winner and his/her designated guest must travel on the same itinerary in both directions, to and from the chosen destination. Winners must travel to and leave from the same destination point. 
Taxes, Fees and Surcharges are not included and must be paid for by the winner and his/her designated guest at the time of booking flights with a valid credit card 
Each winner and his/her designated guest are responsible for transportation to and from the gateway airport and all other expenses not stated as included herein. Each winner of the prize and his/her designated guest is responsible for all Airport taxes, surcharges, any additional fees that may also apply and are subject to change. Each winner of the prize and his/her designated guest is responsible for obtaining, at their own cost, and carrying proper travel documentation such as passports and visas. 
Prize is non-transferable and may not be sold or traded, must be taken as offered and cannot be substituted, redeemed or exchanged for cash, credit or alternative prizes. No credit or reimbursement will be provided if the Prize is not taken. Prize cannot be combined with any other promotional offer or offers provided by the Sponsor except as specifically mentioned herein.
Approximate retail value of each Prize is $2,120 CA. Based on an average economy class fare for travel within North America (including Bermuda, the Caribbean and Mexico); actual value of each prize may vary based on origin and destination cities of a given return trip.
Total value of prizes is approximately $21,200 CA

5. Prize - Terms and Conditions

5.1 Booking the flight:

Flight bookings are subject to availability at time of booking in Economy class. 
Booking must be made at least six weeks prior to intended travel date 
The Prize is eligible for travel only on Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and Air Canada regional partners with Air Canada flight numbers (excluding charter flights, codeshare partners and Star Alliance partners). Flights and routes may be seasonal and are subject to change without notice at any time. 
Reservations must be booked and ticketed by no later than January 18th, 2009 to be valid. 
Upgrades are not permitted under any circumstances. 
Prize winners and his/her designated guests may be held liable to Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz for failure to adhere to the restrictions and conditions of travel applicable to their tickets or for the fraudulent use of those tickets 
Each winner and his/her designated guest must take the most direct booking to destination available at the time of booking. 
Enroute connection points permitted, but stopovers are not permissible 
To make your reservation, you will contact Air Canada's Special Services by phone 
Flight/Date/Routing Change is permitted, but not Origin or Destination 
Standard airline procedures apply as with all regular passengers
5.2 Changes & cancellations:

Changes to travel dates are permitted, and are subject to availability at time of booking and a $50 CA fee, plus taxes is applicable and subject to change; 
Additional fees may apply for any changes or cancellations done through Air Canada Reservations’ Call Centres. 
5.3 Air Canada Status Miles, Aeroplan Miles and Other Promotions: 

No Air Canada Status Miles or Flight Segments, Aeroplan Miles, nor miles from any other airline frequent flyer/loyalty program will be awarded in conjunction with this Prize. 
No prize awarded in this contest may be used or redeemed in conjunction with any other sales, discount, or promotional offers.
PRIZE DRAW

6. At 11:00 a.m. (EST) on January 22nd, 2008, at Air Canada’s Head Offices, located at 7373 Cote Vertu West, Dorval, Quebec, H4Y 1H4, a random draw will be conducted for the Prizes from all eligible entries received. The odds of winning a prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries.
The selected entrants will be determined by the Sponsor, whose decision is final in respect of any matter relating to this Contest and the awarding of the Prize. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrants. The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial, and Municipal laws and regulations. The selected entrants will be contacted by phone shortly after the draw.

Claiming of the Prize

7. The selected entrant will be notified by phone shortly after the draw and must confirm acceptance of the prize within 7 days. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted, or does not reply before such date, another selected entrant may be drawn. Draws will continue until all selected entrants have been chosen and contacted. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant will be required to answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question by phone and sign a release form confirming:

compliance with the contest rules; 
acceptance of the prize as offered; 
acknowledgement of the right of Air Canada and their respective agents to publish the winner’s picture, name and address, without compensation other than the prize offered; 
all recourses against Air Canada (including Air Canada Jazz), its advertising and promotional agencies including Marketel Communications, and its affiliated and related companies are waived. 
8. Winners will be asked to fill out and sign a Declaration and Release Form and return it to the Contest Sponsor, to the specified address, within ten (10) days following receipt of the document. 

9. Upon reception of the Declaration & Release Form duly filled and signed by the winner, the Sponsor will mail instructions to the winner on how to claim the prize. 
General Terms and Conditions

10. Contest Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual from the Contest and to ban the individual from any future contest of the Contest Sponsor that it finds or believes to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest; to be acting in violation of the Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

11. WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, CONTEST SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12. Prize must be accepted as awarded. NO SUBSTITUTION OF PRIZES IS PERMITTED EXCEPT BY SPONSOR IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION. CONTEST SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SUBSTITUTE ANY PRIZE WITH ANOTHER PRIZE OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE IF A PRIZE CANNOT BE AWARDED AS DESCRIBED FOR ANY REASON. PRIZES ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE AND ARE NOT REDEEMABLE FOR CASH OR CREDIT IN WHOLE OR IN PART. 

13. Entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by all decisions of the Contest Sponsor, which are final in all matters pertaining to the Contest. Contest is subject to all applicable laws. By entering, participants release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its affiliated and related companies, and its advertising and promotion agencies and all of their respective directors, officers, shareholders, employees, agents, successors and assigns from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or any prize won.

14. By entering, you consent to the Contest Sponsor’s use, should you become a winner, of your name, place of residence and photograph or other likeness, and your testimony without further compensation or notice, for publicity, advertising or informational purposes in any media or format (including the Internet) in connection with the products, this Contest, or future similar contests. 

15. Participants may obtain the winners’ names by addressing their request accompanied by a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage sent postmarked between March 1st and April 1st, 2008 to:

16. Winners shall be responsible for declaring the total value of their winnings to appropriate revenue authorities.

Limitations of Liability

17. Without limiting the above, and for greater certainty, Air Canada (including Air Canada Jazz), its advertising and promotional agencies including Marketel Communications, and its affiliated and related companies (collectively the “Contest Entities”) will not be liable for: a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Contest website users or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries in the Contest; b) any late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, illegible, or postage due replies; c) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or delay in operation of the contest website or any transmission in connection with the Contest; d) any communications line failure, theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; e) any problems with, or technical malfunction of, any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, or failure of e-mail which may occur for any reason whatsoever, including technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof; or f) any injury or damage to participants’ or to any other persons computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Contest. If the Contest is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Contest Entities which corrupt or affect the administration, security or proper conduct of this Contest, Contest Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to, without advance notice, terminate or suspend the Contest, in whole or in part, or modify it in any way, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux in respect of residents of Quebec.

Quebec Residents: 

18. Any litigation or dispute respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purposes of helping the parties reach a settlement.
