The challenge I see with London is the expense. I'm leaning towards Spain. I don't know if Spain is cheaper but from what I can tell it would be possible in a 10 day trip to see BCN, drive down to Costa Del Sol, and then drive up to MAD. This works out well for me since LY and IB have nonstop service to/from both locations.
