It's been a while since I've done a transatlantic trip in a single aisle plane (does BWI/KEF in a 757 count?), but I remember very well flying the 707's and the DC8's across the Atlantic. They seemed big enough at the time. I guess it's a matter of perspective....and age.

The only reference I can make is watching "Airport" (or "Airport 75"...whichever one had Helen Hayes as the stowaway). Whatever plane that was had nice wide aisles. It doesn't seem like there's enough room in a 757 to put another seat.
