I don't think we are in total disagreement. I think Delta has every right to, and should offer Budget as a promo partner. My only point about Budget is that some people on the last MQM promo got shafted because after the rental they were told that " this particular location does not participate." There should at a minimum be transparency concerning locations that opt out. I was not picking on Budget in particular. This is something a renter should ask of any rental location prior to the rental if it is extra miles, MQMS, etc. that are wanted. I, too, fortunately had no problem with the Sightseer Promo. Unfortunately, many people were not as lucky as you or I. That thread is full of posts from many people who did. Ultimately, yes, Delta did the right thing and took care of the people who had problems, and kudos to Delta for doing that. And finally, I do agree with your comment that not all Budget renters will pay jacked up rates for the points. It may happen to some people, but for others, depending on their rental location and other factors, they could pay the same, pay more or even possibly pay less. This could happen with any rental company. It's just one of those things that a renter has to analyze and decide if it's worth it. It's kind of like the Hertz promo where if you stay at a Marriott for 2 days and get one free. At certain Marriotts that worked great for me. At another one for example, the AAA rate was $98/night; when I entered the Hertz stay 2 nights and get one night free promo code, the rate jumped to $189/night. Your points are well taken, though. Cheers.
