Two reasons (at least in SQ's case):
- All of business class is on the upper deck. If I'm a business class passenger and have mobility issues, how would I get to business class at an airport with one-story jetways?
- A significant portion of coach is also on the upper deck. Same issue (although a coach pax could be reseated, if necessary.
Not as much of an issue on the 747 since most airlines either configure the upper deck for business or coach. In cases where the upper deck is configured for business or coach, there are usually also business and coach seats on the main deck, so the aircraft doesn't have ADA issues.
I'm mainly wondering if there's a passenger lift on-board, or if I should book business, insist I have mobility issues, and end up getting into F
