I spent nearly an hour on the phone with one agent who was very kind and patient trying to help me build a successful saver award itinerary but we couldn't come up with anything that matched what I could find with the KVS tool. She indicated that maybe the system I was looking at (KVS is querying ANA?) had inventory from carriers for award travel that was not similarly shared with United / in the United system.
Unfortunately, UA is notorious for artificially restricting award redemptions on other carriers, and there are tens of threads on this very topic throughout FT ...
If the Tool says CS+/YS+, then UA
can, with 99% certainty, book that award seat for you, and some agents do know how to do it. However, they may get in trouble for doing so ...
