There are a copuple of possible extra benefits to splitting a changed guage flight.

I had 997 next week from ORD-SCL about 10-12 hours or whatever, but it connects via MIA. No NF/NC were freeing up.

Ask angel to SPLIT it into 2 segments on reloc as 997 ORD-MIA and 997 MIA-SCL. (At same time make sure I secure an earlier ORD-MIA in F as "insurance")

More chance of waitlists shaking out seperately this way, also more miles as the computer "reads" it as 2 flights, not one.
