I'm cheap but still
alot of the times I am taking a cab now...

If you look at the CTA slow zones, the entire blue line is almost a slow zone.

I used to think that it was 40 min till downtown. Nowdays I really feel it is lke 60-80 min and its just not worth it then (to me)
