You can still exchange them for air miles (officially 8 points = 1 mile).

The shopping portal still offers some good earnings rates -- usually between 10 to 50 points per dollar spent, sometimes even higher. That translates into 1.25 to 6.25 miles per dollar spent; much better than, say, the new Clickrewards (which supposedly awards 1 mile per dollar, though I haven't seen the miles post from a recent purchase).
