Alright - maybe that heading didn't make much sense.
My buddy tfung and I found out yesterday (perhaps everyone but us knew this?) that you could select flights, routing and seating using United Connection 3.0 software, be able to ignore the sometimes significantly more expensive fare it gives you especially for multi-leg trips/runs, and then click RESERVE and choose to purchase the ticket at a CTO and have the ticket held till a date a few days later and not have your credit card charged.
At this time, you are given a PNR/record location and your reservation is held and you can tell your travel agent (who may have far better deals) your PNR and he/she can take over from there.
Has anyone else done this before? It seems like a mighty good way to basically take charge of all your travel planning without having to talk to the agent (short of paying him/her!)
