I bet that if a track were to be built for a normal high-speed train, it would only be 2 or 3 minutes slower.
And don't forget the
real irony: The Transrapid, as a major terrorism target, will certainly get security screening like the Eurostar, maybe even the liquid ban or whatever nonsense exists in avaiation when the train route finally opens. So here go your 2-3 minutes.
