A gate was available....but the wheels on the jetway were broken. They ended up off-loading our bags while we waited for someone to fix the jetway. After 20 minutes or so we just ended up re-parking at a different gate. By the time I made it down to baggage claim the bags had already been off-loaded from the carousel, so no time was wasted. So much for the early arrival! If it had been an LAX-PHL flight I doubt the bags would have been off-loaded while the pax were waiting for the jetway to be extended to the door!
