HNL is a very popular market for award travel. It's never easy to score PerkSaver tickets to HI. Some tips:
- Look up the guide to award travel thread; there is lots of useful info there!
- Check www.nwa.com/jp; it shows much better availability. When you see something open up call right then and there and book.
- Remember to consider partners: I've been pretty successful finding availability to HNL on CO (connecting in either EWR or IAH). You get food and movies in Y, which to me makes it a preferable choice. Also consider DL.
- If you call to ask for availability, be well informed! Check out some possible itineraries (also incluging partners) and be ready to suggest them to the CSR.
- When you search online, have up to 50 flights displayed. The more options, the better.
- I found the calendar to be very randomly colored. Dates that the calendar showed no availability had PerkPass seats; dates colored "PerkPass may be available" had PerkSaver seats, etc. Ignore the colors and just look at the miles.

Good luck!
