What happened I was fly flying from SJC to STL through LAX. Mechanical problems in LAX delayed the flight according to the pilot for a minimum of an hour, possible more. I elected to fly to STL through DFW, getting home at 7:30 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 3:00 p.m.
Compensation 6,000 miles
Comments While I would have saved time by sitting on the plane in LAX and taking the direct flight home, I elected to cut loses immediately. The originally flight ultimately landed at 5:30 p.m. If the plane arriving from LAX to DFW hadn't sat on the tarmac for 20 minutes, I would have been able to make a short connection in DFW and made it back to STL at 5:30 p.m.
