If he's a member of the RCC, he can certainly use the RCC on the way in! However, it doesn't have shower facilities.
I have had some success (not always) just asking for an Arrivals invitation at the time of checkin, even though my ticket is an upgtade to C. Apparently the software does not inhibit it.
