MSP: Lindberg to Humphrey
I fly Icelandair (FI) a good deal, and usually out of MSP. This year they moved to the Humphrey terminal, and I have made this cross-terminal connection 6 times.
Previously, due to construction, I took a shuttle bus. Worked great, as the bus dropped you off right in front of the Humphrey terminal. On my last trip construction has been completed, so the shuttle bus is no longer in operation; you take the light rail. Didn't seem like much of a problem until I found out how far the light rail station at Humphrey is from the actual terminal.
You walk, and walk, and walk thru the parking garage. During my walk, I had thoughts of the Sienfeld episode where they can't remember where the car is parked, and they too walk and walk in a parking garage.
While there is good signage, I can't imagine this was conceived as a means of connecting the two terminals. Perhaps as a way to get to the parking lot at Humphrey as addl parking for Lindberg passengers, but not to connect to another flight from Humphrey.
Except for Icelandair, and perhaps some winter charters, I can't imagine anyone flying into Lindberg and out of Humphrey. That could change as more carriers come into Humphrey; possibly low cost intl carriers.
Does anyone know if there are any plans to improve the connection from the Humphrey station to the Humphreyterminal? Something like the moving walkways in the C and G terminals?
