Stupid Greyhound pricing in NY

I know this happens with airlines sometimes, but Greyhond's pricing is much more simplified so one would think they would figure this out.

Greyhound offers what they call "Go Anywhere Fares" http://www.greyhound.com/en/deals/go_anywhere_fares.asp

They are really a good deal for shorter distances Monday-Thursday. I know $99 to travel cost to coast is cheap but I would never subject myself to something like that. And with Southwest out there I don't know why anyone would.

However the "Go Anywhere Fares" are not valid for travel within NY. A o/w ticket from Syracuse to NYC is $45. However if one books Syracuse to Newark, NJ the ticker pricing falls under the "Go Anywhere" pricing and brings the price down to $27 (on Mon-Thur). Make sure you book a route that connects in NYC (most of them do). You'll get two tickets one for SYR-NYC and another for NYC-EWR. The total savings is about 44%.
