Upgrades to non revs are part of a written record and have to be accounted for just as revenue upgrades do. Non Rev seats in premium cabins do happen if there is no one waiting or they can be put in F even if business is full and upgrades are waiting there from coach.. Recently I witnessed something that kind of bothered me.

MIA-LAX - 777 sold as 3 class.

I received my free upgrade to J so I'm not complaining, but there were at least 4-5 non-revs (some in uniform, some not) that got to sit in the front, suites to boot.

I thought that the GA should have pulled the J revenue tickets and upgraded these passengers first and the crew could have sat in J, but that's now what happened.

Any thoughts?
