I agree the new system will be an improvement. But now it's a race to check in at 23:59:59 (or 23:59:15 according to FCfree's atomic clock). Before, if my flight leaves at noon tomorrow, I'm just fine if I check in at 1:00. Now, the guy checking in at noon has a distinct advantage over the person checking in at 1:00.
