Aeroplan rewards - limited by mileage, as well as routing?
I had asked about Aeroplan Star Alliance awards:
from Vancouver to Miami - transit stops in Chicago, Dulles, Denver, Charlotte were allowed, but transit through San Francisco and LAX were not allowed.
from Canada to Delhi -
i) all cities (including Vancouver) have to transit through Europe
ii) one can not overshoot and backtrack - ie go on Singapore airline or Thai Airways to its hub, and backtrack to Delhi (and vice versa, when returning to Canada).
The SE Aeroplan agent in all these instances stated that these itineraries were not allowed for reward booking, because of mileage reasons, rather than routing reasons.
Can anyone clarify the mileage policy?
