JUST SO Y'ALL KNOW, I did not mean to imply I was looking to throw around any weight, I was actually just amazed at reading some of the other posts in the forum at things people have gotten - like upgrades for everyone they are traveling with, even if they would not normally be entitled. It made me think that my quiet approach (which I cannot imagine I would change - kind of my nature) might be getting different outcomes than more gutsy or forward folks.

Only once have I mentioned it to a DL or DL Connection employee. I attempted to change my destination after several flights were cancelled and it looked like the only way I would get home that night. SMS told me it was in the hands of the GA, but normally a change would be made if the difference was 100 miles or less. I was asking for a 150 mile change, roughly.
I approached the GA and asked if she would have pity on a PM who'd had 2 cancelled flights and just wanted to get home. She honored my request and put me in F to boot.
The only situation where I did mention it (noted in original post above) was much like BamaVol's - I wanted to get to the airport closer to home (less than 50 miles) since they were not going to accommodate me on the orig. flt. so I asked if I could switch the connecting flight to get home faster and I was told I'd have to pay a fee to rebook the ticket as changing the airport was the same as purchasing a new ticket (cost was going to be prohibitive). I wasn't very familiar at that time with medallion benefits so I asked if they would waive that fee for GM, which is when she told me I was not GM (even though the ticket she printed for me said it). Funny thing was up to that point I hadn't even used the elite lines for check in, never sure if I could as a mere silver, but the next day I did and the agent put me in an exit row for the LGW-ATL leg and in ATL, another agent got me onto an earlier flight home. (restored my faith in DL).
