One thing that hits me is since you are a single parent traveling with a young child, you may have some troubles leaving the country and therefore it may be easier to stick with a Hawaii itinerary. I honestly don't have first hand knowledge about how arduous it is to leave the country with a minor without both Mom and Dad present, but it strikes me that this may be a factor for you to research before committing to an international itinerary.
No dad to speak of, thanks for pointing it out though. I do have a friend who works for AC so she can get me the visa for wherever I go free. Also she has flown quite a bit, last flight was to MEL she was wonderful on the flight there and back. She's very well behaved, entertains herself and the jet lag didn't affect her. Yes, my perfect little 5 year old tee hee.
