The US offers the most competitive pricing for almost everything electronics, regardless of place of origin. I checked camera and lens pricing in Hong Kong, Japan, Dubai and found no place beats the US.
With the strength of the GBP vs US$, effectively you get another discount due to currency exchange. Come to the US and shop!
