I think this North Asia to South Asia award option was quietly removed from the award chart when ual.com was issuing award tickets with those crazy routings for the first time. (KIX-HKG via SFO for example)

I remember ticketing ICN-NRT-HKG(stopover)-SIN(destination)-NRT-ICN for 40K in F. Maybe it's still possible to include ICN in this reduced intra-asia award...I haven't tried recently.
