There is still a chance. I've found that a couple of my NC upgrades this year have been a result of people being upgraded to NF, as the NC seat that I've gotten has been a premium "C" seat (Row 15-17 on a 747, etc), so the only way to explain it is if someone didn't show up, or they were upgraded themselves. This kind of shuffle may still happen.
