Not willing to burn 40k miles on this TPE/HKG flight, I guess I'd probably purchase a r/t ticket ($250~$350) on TG, CX, CI, BR, etc airlines for one of my intra-Asia trips next year.
I would not use miles, if your flexible, you can get fares under NT$5,00(US$150) on TPE/KHH-HKG routes. Once in while there is sales in NT$4,000 range, and TG is normally cheapest on this route as they have poor schedule compared to Ci/BR/CX.
