Called TG in LHR AND BKK to try and make a birthday award reservation, but was told that I can only make the reservation from the first day of the month before. Birthday is in December, thus making 1 November the earliest I can book. The only problem is that I am planning to fly on the 5 November!

Had no problems with booking a few months in advance last year for my birthday award booking, with a generous ticketing deadline.

Have rules changed then? I've searched on the forum and have seen a thread some time in July 07 saying that bookings have been made by others at least a couple of months in advance, although this was earlier in the year (January 07 for a booking in April 07).

If anyone has experience to draw from birthday award bookings made THIS year, perhaps in the later months, I would be most grateful if you could share them.

ps: TG in BKK did suggest I try calling 'towards the end of October' to haggle a bit.
