Can be either funny or annoying. In particular, when in a hurry for a connection.
What pisses me most is, when the FRA/MUC customs guys teach me about the pain with US customs in contrast to the easy going DE customs.
I never ever had one single annoying incident with US customs, but a couple handful with German customs so far.
